DARK AND STORMY MERMAID

The Dark ‘n Stormy has become an iconic cocktail consumed on waterfronts around the globe. It was invented in the 1920s by British sailors who were experimenting with mixing Goslings Black Seal Rum with a Ginger Beer that was also being made on the island to help the sailors combat seasickness. The drink was an immediate hit, and Goslings became associated with the drink ever since. Goslings even trademarked the drink, so if a bartender ever mixes a drink using another rum and ginger beer, while it might be tasty, it can’t be called a Dark ‘n Stormy.

For this reason, we tip our hat to Goslings, and we call our drink the “Dark and Stormy Mermaid.”
