BLOOD AND SAND COCKTAIL – WILD BUCK WHISKEY
Blood and Sand is one of the few classic mixed drinks, including Wild Buck Whisky. TheBlood and Sand Cocktail was named after Rudolph Valentino’s 1922 bullfighter movie Blood and Sand. The red juice of the blood orange in the drink helped link it with the film. The recipe is first known to have appeared in the 1930 Savoy Cocktail Book.
TheBlood and Sand Cocktail is usually served in a coupe glass or Champagne Coupe. Its main ingredients include blood orange juice, sweet vermouth, cherry hearing liquor, and Wild Buck Whiskey. To prepare the Blood and Sand Cocktail, pour and shake all ingredients in a shaker. Then, double-strain the mix in a coupe glass and garnish with a slice of blood orange.
INGREDIENTS: (BlOOD AND SAND COCKTAIL)
- 3/4 ounces of Wild Buck Whiskey
- 3/4 oz Blood Orange Juice
- 3/4 oz. Cherry Heering Liquor
- 3/4 oz Sweet Vermouth
DIRECTIONS:(BlOOD AND SAND COCKTAIL)
- Combine all ingredients in a Collins glass.
- Add another splash of orange juice.
- Then, flame the zest over it.
- Garnish with a Flamed orange zest and a Maraschino cherry
- Serve Straight up, without ice
